Opinions needed on a 800 Seadoo engine rebuild...

Attached is a photo of the case side rotary valve. The scratch is what I would say deep enough to make me very concerned as it goes port to port. I have not rebuilt one like this before so I thought I would ask the group what they would do? The cover to the valve will resurfaced and I will be getting a new rotary valve plate.

This is going to be a complete rebuild from Crank to pistons.

    Thoughts??

Yes with it being port to port is will be difficult to start. Machining is out of the question as the marks are way too deep. Recommend deep sixing those and getting some usable cases.

    I agree

get some new cases. might be hard to find some low hour ones these days.

your looks like it ate a screw..typically one of the choke or throttle late screws come loose and go thru the engine like that. was there big ding on one side of the old rotary valve?

Yeah that's scrap metal. I'd send you a good set of cases for $150 shipped. I also have OEM first over pistons for 75 each. (850)259-1581

If Matt has good cases for $150, that’s a no-brainer!

You can find a good set of cases on eBay for less than $100 shipped
