I’m on #3. Only thing I could maybe suggest is after a long ride before you shut it off is to idle around for a however long to get the pissers spitting out somewhat cool water. Bl

mine too cracked in dec/jan with water temp being at around 15Degrees Celcius while being WOT for about 2minutes.
Edit when mine happened I had left the slip was cruising around 40-50km/hr for around 3km ( I always allow for engine to get warm before going WOT and also allow the engine to cool down before swtiching it off) then went WOT for around 2km then got the warning of low oil. :/Last edited by dijsil; 03-08-2021 at 08:13 AM.

well the water is still freezing cold even with 15 °C Air Temp in Jan. With an Hot Engine is this not an good combination. when restart the ski and the shocking cold water runs in the hot Engine....

If Yamaha wants to continue this shitty casting, we need closed loop cooling.

I either got the GIO situation yesterday or cracked head.. damnit.
Is the water too cold if my exhaust manifold won't even heat up? On hose and in water it's staying cold..

Just the basic riva $20 kit and intercooler line blocked off on the splitter.
Chicago weather. Backed it off trailer, let it run for a bit. Did a wot pull going down, perfect. Turned around and did a wot pull for a bit then I felt a ever so slight rpm drop, looked back and smoke is actually pouring out, pulled seat and oil is everywhere spitting from crankcase breather.
Recorded my highest top speed during these 8 minutes so that's one upside.
2014 svho , deans flash, fizzle cooler/dedicated line, ribbon delete. I honestly don't know what the deal is just yet, no big signs of water in the oil but gas smells I think/hope maybe.

Oil seems to be pretty high right now so maybe just simple as that. Waiting on oil to do a change and go from there
