Hi Luke,
looks like ive got the same issue as you, man im not looking forward to tackling this with Yamaha. Mine is 2017 Yamaha FX SVHO with 71hrs.
Where did you buy the extra cylinder heads from mate? How did the SHO cylinder head fit up? Simple bolt up?

Sorry to hear mate, Its a shit thing that some of us 1.8l guys have to go through.
SHO, HO.. all these heads will work with yours, you can just transfer it all across into the new head your get, Im currently using a 2014 HO head from memory on the now Turbo set up.
Only real mod you have to do for the HO heads is to open up the bolt hole for stock IC bracket. They all come out of the same mould, they just don't need to drill it for the HO as there isn't a need for the bracket. If you go a turbo setup you wont need to drill it. haha

Does this apply to the 2016 SVHO FZS 1.8l heads too? I'm looking at getting my fzs reflashed (stage 1 8300) but can't be bothered with having reliability issues. Or is it a bit of a lottery, regardless of reflash?

I cracked my head in Dec and know another guy who cracked his in Jan, we were riding in cold air with water temps right at 50 degrees. We both have the upgraded cooling systems where water goes in thru where anode fitting is. Is it possible the cold water entering into a hot motor being run hard is contributing the cracked heads ?
Thanks

Those numbers seem fine to me. Testers vary. I had around those numbers...
