What new sea doo to buy

    New to this forum.
I am looking at a new ski.
Looking at either a GTI 90 or a GTI SE 155. I have done research and feel these should both be reliable machines.
I am leaning toward the 155 as i feel for 1500 more OTD it is a good value. Also what would a good price be for a new 2018 GTI SE 155. I have haggled the price to around 1600 off sticker, does this sound like where it should be. Thoughts or if there is another machine i should look at. I will be mostly riding solo on lakes and rivers and having my kids on it at times.

    Welcome

    Where are you located?

Do you know which hull material each of those models has? Polytech, CMtech?

All the non-supercharged watercraft from all the brands are quite reliable, engine wise.

Will you be riding with friends or by yourself?

Only smooth water riding or also with significant boat chop, windy days?

The GTI90 is polytech. The 155 is not.
I am in southern new england. I will be doing lake and river riding. Chop is usually not to much an issue.
I am thinking the 90hp will not be enough.
I know the 155 is not super fast but most local lakes have a 45 speed limit anyway. Last machine was a vx110 and before that a screaming polaris 780 pro.

    Candlewood lake by any chance?

I've got a 90 hp spark and a 230 RXT, I think together they're the perfect combo. Spark so crazy nimble, RXT so crazy fast for candlewood. Why not go spark first?

I rode a friend spark. It is good for playing around for 10 20 minutes at a time. It has a very hard seat. His is a trixx model. I just feel that by the time you pay for a trixx and get IBR you are only about 1500 away from GTI SE 155. best machine i ever had was the polaris pro 785. Spark has alot of the playfulness of that machine but nowhere near the power or acceleration. The spark also seemed kinda flimsy. I would love to see a spark size machine with a 155 motor and a good seat.

If you're going to be riding with passengers, go with the GTI.

I would personally recommend 130 or 155, as the 90 has the lesser powered motor and polytech hull.

You didn't mention your kids ages, but if they'll be driving, you can always have them use the learning key.

Ya i will be pulling the trigger on the GTI SE 155. It looks like i can be out the door with tax reg and a trailer for right at 11k. The one i am looking at is a 2018 leftover. Does price sound good?
My kids are young 11 and 6 so no riding for them for some time.
Was looking used but 09 are still going for 4500, so no value going used.

That sounds like a good price.

My local dealer has an 18 GTI 155 listed for $10,599 w/o trailer.

I just put a deposit down on a similar combo: 3UP spark and GTR 230. They’ll be lake skies. A 300 would’ve been way overkill.

    the 90 will do about 42mph and the 155 should run 55mph. I have a 130 and a 155. you will love the 155
