    (2000?) SLX 1200 Upgrades?

hi ive got a 2001 polaris 1200 pro and i was looking to put some upgrades on it, currently i find on take off and when doing 360s it bogs a bit compaired to the 1999 1050 my dad has.

the 1050 can do a 360 and then just keeps going mine seems to sorta bog for a couple seconds and then go

so i was thinking of changing the impeller to something better as it just has a stock 1 right now, im also considering putting on flame arrestors but im not sure what kind or what size adapters i would need because i cant seem o find out much on these machine online.

i was also considering changing the reeds if it would help and possibly putting a new waterbox.

I'm not looking to do anything to extensive but id just like to make this machine a little more peppy and faster than my dads 1050 so if you have any suggestions or can help me out by sending part numbers for some easy upgrades that would be great thanks

If the ski has the stock Polaris 707 impeller I think thatís he best prop for a stock pro 1200. I hadnít tried a better one on mine. Iíd be going through your carbs first if there is a bogging issue.

The stock flame arrestor is actually really good. Changing it wonít make much of any difference. Reeds can make it snappier but at the possible expense of reed life. Iíd be checking the carbs and making sure the accel pump is working correctly. Get the big issue sorted out and everything else should fall into place

I bought the machine used but it appears to be the factory prop, it's got an r and d ride plate on it right now as well, but the reason I think it's the impeller is because the machine revs up on spins and just sounds like it's not making connection or grabbing the water enough I call it bogging but I'm not sure that's the correct term because the machine seems to run great. I just cant understand why it kinda dies on the spin like you can hear the motor revving which is what makes me think theres not enough water in the tunnel to keep it going. I may send the carbs for a rebuild though.

Then it’s time to pull the pump and check the impeller and it’s condition. Being a used machine someone may have even put the wrong impeller on it

That’s a 2000 SLX. Pull the pump and check the prop and the prop clearance. Let us know what you find

I've checked the prop and everything that's there and it all seems to be ok, theres no play in it or the bearings and the clearances look tight
