Question about 8800 Stock Class map

I was looking and seems I can run 8800 Stock class map on maptuner on my ski, per rules says engine needs to remain stock per OEM. But riva suggests retainer... I have heard they tend to go after 8700 rpms ?

Racers that race in that class must run stock retainers...
Racers and recreational riders that run that tune really NEED to check their retainers periodically for cracks in the top of the OEM retainers...engine damage can result from not inspecting them.

People running Stage 2 and up are running
retainers so there is no engine damage at higher rpms the kits and tunes provide....no more possible valve float.
