Repitch stock zxi impeller or go afterrmarket?

    I have a 1100 zxi with a 900 engine.
I had to swap out the pump because if a high spot.

While its out I wanted to have the impeller repitched to work with the 900.

Before I do that would I have anything to gain be going aftermarket on a zxi?

I do know it a 148 mm pump. I would have it pitched based on a 2003 stx 900. Going by the skat trak chart it's only if by a degree on both ends when compared to the 1100. Would I notice a difference?

The 900 Zxi had a 140mm pump vs the 148 1100 pump, so you can't just base it off the printed pitch. A ZXI is a different animal than a STX. I'm assuming your running a Skat now ?
My suggestion would be run a Skat 12/17 or 13/18 or Solas kg-cd-12/18 or kg-cd-13/19, and would lean heavily towards the Solas kg-cd-13/19 because of the lighter ZXI hull over the STX900 hull, plus that should give you a little wiggle room for any later upgrades to the 900 engine.
    Just my thoughts.

I had the same concern about the weight of the stx.
However, skat trak lists the 12/17 as a stock replacement for the 1100. Do you think it be too much for the 900?

I think I saw a solas has an 11/16. Too low?

With that said, what are the thoughts around using the stock 1100 impeller?

Actually the 13/18 is the stock replacement for the zxi1100. The 12/17 is the stk for the 01 stx900 and the 13/18 is for a slightly modified 01 stx900 which would prob work good in a lighter hull. My feeling is the 12/17 is going to leave you wanting more. It will prob pull good through mid range and start to fall off on the top end. If you get the clearence tight and do some smoothing and polishing in the pump i think you would be really happy with the 13/18.
    Again, just my thoughts.

So, I had the stock 1100 impeller installed last year. It had terrible bottom end and top end.

Should I notice any issues with that impeller?
Would that mean the issues I had were carb related?

I would have to accelerate slowly or it would bog. On the top end it was about the same speed as my 750.

Realize your trying to pull a stk 1100 impeller with 20hp less on a tight engine. Bogging could be carb related but could be from a worn out engine, to big pitch of impeller or other issue also.
Do a compression test. If good, rebuild the carbs with high quality kits. Not the 25.00 specials off ebay. Check pop off. Should be 25psi. Get the right impeller and make sure impeller clearance is at .008 on all blades all the way around. At least a 12/17. You can have it repitched if you end up bouncing the rev limiter.

Might even start with the new impeller to get a good baseline.

So the carbs were rebuilt with wsm kits. Maybe I need to redo them.

Engine was also rebuilt last year.

I just purchased used pump because of a high spot.
Now I have two factory impellers. Different styles but both stock. Should I bother installing the pump with them?

Really just looking to get it running right not lookng to improve performance at this time.
