difference between free flow and rear exhaust?

I am still very new with this PWC stuff and have what is probably a really stupid question. What is the difference between a free flow exhaust and a rear exhaust for my FX SVHO that casues people to say they can't stand the drone on the free flow system but not with the rear exhaust?

thru hull exhaust sounds awesome AF!

the thru hull does drone a bit but its a different kind of drone, plus if you lean a bit to the exhaust side it deepens the note because its lower in the water. Either do the 'TJ exhaust mod' or get a thru hull, dont even bother with a free flow.

also if you want to make it extra awesome get a riva waterbox

I have actually done the TJ mod but haven't gotten to run it in the water since doing it.

I did the TJ mod on mine. I then did the rear exhaust. Sound levels were almost the same between the two. Don’t do the free flow. It sounds awful

I did the full tj- cut flaps, small resonator removal and cut large resonator pipe and I swear The damn thing has a light lope at idle going though a no wake area

i also have the green hulk panel filter and that alone helped deepen the exhaust

There also is Tommy Jordan's "free flow without the noise" mod. Did it on my 12 FXCSHO on his recommendation, and I am very happy with it. Nice tone, a little bump in RPM's. Best of all....very cheap! Just search for it on here

I ve read it before I need to remove the riva straight pipe and refit original exhaust modified without the second chamber it’s a bunch of work and experience tells me it won’t be easy.....
