Donít bother itís not worth the performance gain for the effort. Just do a remap.

There has been some back and forth regarding whether it is necessary. The 2018/2019 SVHO engine has a plastic intake manifold, so the ribbon delete is different than with the cast aluminum intake manifold.

A recent thread just a month or so ago discussed the ribbon delete with plastic intake manifold.

For the aluminum manifold there there is a ribbon delete tapered sleeve available. Is there a sleeve ‘kit’ for the plastic manifold?

There’s an r&d kit on eBay if you really want
to do it. Looks like they’re charging $199.. I don’t see how there isn’t a performance gain like the previous models. The ribbon looks exactly the same

Unlike a car, these engines do not have an air flow sensor. The CPU tune needs to match the installed modifications, in this case regarding air flow and flow balance into each cylinder. Increased air flow needs increased fuel delivery, per cylinder, which comes from the specific engine tune.

IIRC, with the aluminum SVHO intake manifold, a ribbon delete slightly leaned out the two middle cylinders. So the ECU tune for ribbon delete increased fuel delivery to these cylinders, to compensate.

With the plastic SVHO intake manifold (2018 onwards) it is unclear whether the air flow balance across the four cylinders changes when the ribbon is removed. Riva knows, which is why I suggested asking them directly. They do the MaptunerX ECU tunes, for both stock and ribbon removed tunes on 2018+ SVHO engines.

Makes sense. I’ll be sure to contact them to see if they have a tune that compensates for it before I do mine. Looks like someone grabbed that one off eBay already. Can always cut it out and file down the lip like danet mentioned.

Did you tune it after? Feel any different?
