    Water through driveshaft

If there is anyone here with water ingress in the engine bay of a 1100 STX .... it is really easy to fix ....

Especially if the cast aluminum tunnel which is glued to the hull comes off without ANY tools .... Click image for larger version.

That's a known issue with that model. Last one I did was only stuck about the size of 2 quarters.

While you're at it, consider replacing the driveshaft holder & bearing. Rhaas has one that's made of polyurethane.

That's what I did last time I had the engine out. Unfortunately I didn't do this repair back then because it looked like more work than it actually was.

Surface doesn't look the best but who cares if it's not leaking ....

Now for the long wait for it to dry .... lucky that I have another 1 million things to do.Click image for larger version.

Getting all of that glue off is the hard part. Clean up the glue and salt, as well as the hull. Get a $2 epoxy kit from Harbor Freight and attach with a generous amount of epoxy.

I've done this on a few skis and it works very well.
