    Seadoo Drive Shaft Material???

any one have any info as to what the drive shaft material actually is made up? i ask because Iíve seen really old kawi and yami and no rust like on the seadoo, even on a new machine after 1/2 season it rust to shit. Also noticed sbt sells "stainless Steel" but also wonder how much of it is really stainlesss.

good question, i have never seen a seadoo driveshaft not rusted and i have never seen a yamaha driveshaft rusted!!! every year in my little shop i replace many seadoos spun driveshafts into props and very rarely replace yamahas spun shafts ( even with damaged prop boots) or at least since there is no more 2 strokes.
i feel like i have lifetime security job with these seadoos .

It's apparently the same material used to build a Subaru.

My guess would be chrome molly steel.

Btw stainless is soft as shit so a stainless shaft would most likely only be plated.

Rust is a minor problem for yours....breakage is the larger concern.
