Looking to take a couple jetski weekend trips without the kids this summer at some point. Have been looking for spots to go up North of me. I live near Des Moines, IA. Might have to make a trip up that way.

The river is miles long, I’ve taken my pontoon boat on it for years. Of course we’ve got the big lakes in Madison as well. They’re pretty close, Lake Mendota is quite large and very deep. Hope to see you up there!

Lake wisco...its fun, have the lake if ya prefer choppy workout somedays, can run up the river for flat water.
In the lake is white channel markers...if not familiar follow those...are stump fields outside some of markers.
Most of sandbars/hangouts are @ N end of lake, busy on weekends!!

If ur up for real touring adventure...can do a dam run..from lake wi up to dells an back. Upper 80s mile RT. Done this 5x past 2yrs.. super scenic up toward the dells!
Definitely helps if you can read the river...sandbars especially when low water.
Most people quite surprised when ya tell em ya rode up from the lake.
Will need some extra gas, usually carry 2gal. theres a gas station in Portage off a back channel over the dike an cross the road if ya have cans... cheaper than $5 @ marina in dells.
Did the ride on both spark an gti before..
Another fun ride is launch from upper dells to castle rock dam an back...
Hope this helps some...kinda rambled a bit
    Steve

Rode all the Madison lakes for the 1st time ever this past may...an again in August b4 the floods. Like ya said Mendota can get choppy!!
Usually stick to missippi river or various stretches of wi river.

    Thanks Steve!
I would definitely be up for a ride to the Dells. Sorry I haven’t responded before this but this winter snow is kicking my ass. I’ll hit you up when the weather gets nicer.

Sweet. I’d like to find some time to get out that way this summer. Always looking for new places to see
