2018 RXT X 300 or 2019 Yamaha FX SVHO Crusier?

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you. I am trying to figure out which ski to buy brand new. Can you all give me any advice on to which ski to purchase? The only reason I picked the 2018 RXT X 300 is because I love the grey look and they donít offer that color for 2019. I currently have a 2018 GTR 230 but am looking for another ski which is bigger and faster.

    Welcome

What kinds of water do you ride in? Open ocean, protected bays, large lakes, rivers?

    Long distance riding?

    Single rider or with passenger?

What machines are you already familiar with, for reference?

Hello, lakes and rivers. Two to three riders. Currently have a GTR 230 2018 which as been great so far. I am trying to see if the RXTX 300 would be a bad idea to buy over the FX SVHO Crusier 2019.

Well, what are you looking for that the GTR 230 does not do for you?

Would you be keeping the GTR and expanding the fleet?

You normally ride with 2 or 3 people on board the one ski, correct?

When you say you want a ski that is Ďbiggerí are you talking about room for the people (seating, footwell, enclosed storage) or are you looking for a longer, wider, larger, possibly heavier hull to better handle rough water?

Yes I want to buy another one and will keep the GTR. I can’t decide which one of these two to get. I like e the look or the RXT X 300 and the seat but have never driven it and have never driven the Fox svho Crusier. Looking for speed and reliability. I heard the RXT X 300 2018 has issues but can’t seem to find out what they are. Like hull cracking or engine failers.

Yamaha FX for 2019 is a new hull and top deck, different than the 2018 FX and prior.

Right now only a few 2019 FX have been ridden and reported on by private owners. Several professional reviews have been posted, with rather positive comments. Watercraft Journal would be one place to read Kevinís reviews on the 2019 Yamaha FX and the Seadoo hulls/models.

The new Seadoo ST3 hull is different from prior hulls, and under some conditions Kevin did not like the way it tracked (or rather, did not stay on track).

The ST3 hull has been around for a few years now, depending on the model. You should be able to find plenty of info on how it rides, handles, good and not so good, etc.

"Lakes & rivers"? Yamaha. Ride plate mod and Dean's Team 8000rpm ECU limit will have you smiling for the next 5 years.

I love me my Yamaha's but if I had a seadoo dealer around I would be on a 300 for sure. None in my country so I can't risk it. The RXT is a great looking ski imo and the speakers make it a big plus in my books. The newer FX don't appeal to me one bit and the GP is as bare to the bones as you can get in todays market. Just a tiny hull and a big motor. (Not that that's a problem for me as I love it)
