'15 STX 15F air filter?

I just purchased a '15 STX 15F with 16 hours on it. I am new to the jet ski world but I consider myself above average mechanically inclined.

My question is, is the air filter serviceable on my ski? I have done a search online and it looks like a screen of some sort.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

That's what it is! Not much dust out in the middle of a lake or the ocean, so most 'Skis and boats don't have filters. However, they do have to keep flames from coming out of the intake in the event of a backfire, which is what the screen does. It's called a flame arrestor.

Don't know, as I've never worked on that model. However, I'm buying one next weekend, so I'll report back after I get it.

I picked mine up Saturday. It's kind of rough, but I bought it for the engine. Not worried about the cosmetics. The engine is going into an Ultra 150.

You have a twin to the '15 that I keep in Fort Myers. I think it is the best graphics package that Kawi ever put on the STX. Enjoy!

The guy bought it from took really good care of it kept it washed and waxed and even though it’s a 2004 it’s only got a little over 100 hours on it. Thanks
