potential big mistake - am I screwed?

I've been working on winterizing my jet skis and the silicone and the fogging oil cans look exactly the same. Needless to say, I accidentally sprayed silicone into the cylinders instead of the fogging oil. Am I screwed?

Screwed, I donít think so, plugs will probably need changing but fog it with the right stuff and should be fine donít think there is anything inside the motor that will be damaged by silicon spray

    I could be wrong....

thats what I was thinking.....if I were to winterize my ski (I never do ) and did not have any Fogging oil I would use silicone spray.

That might not be a good idea.

Silicone is a weird material, very different from petroleum oils, lubricants, etc.

Liquid silicone spray inside an engine might have adverse effects, possibly when the engine is next used and the silicone is exposed to combustion chamber temperatures.

The Yamaha engine is not particularly rust prone as it sits, before any fogging.

All I was saying is that silicone spray is something unusual, among the array of 'oily' spray products one might have on the shelf.

it depends on the nature of the product used

on the surface, it would appear that anything is better then rust.

in the case of an engine's piston rings, I'd be just a touch concerned of gumming the rings when the engine fired up

luckily it was silicon spray and not spray paint ( don't ask-I won't snitch)

    five lines enough?
