    2013 ultra 300 wont go above 50 KM

    Hi Folks,

    I've had a 2013 Ultra 300 since new, serviced every year and meticulously maintained.

    Took it out for the first time this season just after it was serviced, was running fine for about 1 hour. then not so fine.

    Every time I tried to go over 50 KM it sounded like it was cutting out.
    The dash was reading boost from the supercharger
    Every time a opened the throttle and boost would kick in it would struggle
    If I revved it slowly were no boost was required I could get it up to 50 - 60 km
    I put it in reverse and noticed a bunch of smoke from the exhaust
    I noticed one of the air hoses going into the supercharger had fresh oil on it, not sure if it's related.

    Could it be an air leak? I'll be taking a poke around in a few days so some advice would be cool. In other threads the exhaust filter seems to be an issue in some cases. I have new plugs and oil from the service. Oil level was on the low side....

    Quick update,

    Charger tensioner was seazed
    Exhaust filter was shot and the honey comb ended up in the baffle

    I fixed both of the above and it runs better, I can get it up to 70 km reeving to speed slowly. Then I open it up and boost comes on I get nothing.

    Thinking it could be the belt....

    OK, took the sc belt off and this is what it looked like after 83 hours of use.

    Even though I had my ski serviced at ProJet Tullamarine, they changed the oil and plugs they failed to inspect a whole bunch of stuff. I'm not particularly happy that I've had to take an entire day away from my holidays performing my own repairs.

    I wont be taking my ski in for a shop service every again. I'll just do it myself and make sure it's done properly.

    Also thanks heaps for the past forum posts and they helped out heaps.

    I have a spare I will sell you for $20 shipped! Thicker and heavy duty with warranty!

    All good boys, Kawasaki dealer down the road in Seaford fixed me up will all the parts I need. I'm back in the water tomorrow too!

    Hi Folks,

    Quick update on this thread outlining a few things I've done so far.

    New exhaust filter
    Removed and cleaned SC tensioner
    New SC belt - Also added belt grip to the new one

    Took my ski out and it ran like new for about 20 mins.
    After 20 mins it wont go above 60km.
    Whenever boost kicks in nothing happens.
    Revs go up and boost goes up,
    I hold the trigger down and nothing happens

    When I looked in the engine bay I noticed oil dripping down onto the throttle body. On the electrics and the hose clamp on the intercooler
    Oil also coming from the air box, I took the dildo out and drained the box, I recon less than half a cup came out.

    This has happened to my twice now where I check over every thing, make sure things are all nice and tight. The ski runs fine for bit then this issues happened.

    I've followed a bunch of historical posts and this issue and it should be easy to resolve.

    My next step is to clean out the intercooler and get new hose clamps. Could bad plugs cause this? I put new once in this season and they have less than 2 hours.

    Any advice someone can give would be appreciated.

    you said "apparently they were changed".... are you sure they actually were? throw some ngk cr9ekb in there and try again. at least rule plugs out
