    GTR 215 Performance Modifications (CANADA)

    Hello Everyone!

I am located in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Sea Doo's sold here in Canada, are not regulated via top end speed/rev limiter, or emission controls.

My GTR 215 goes 69 mph (flickering to 70 mph) all week long, on a full tank of 91+ Octane.

Summer temps here run 80-85 ish at sea level. On our lake, it is a very light chop with 3-5 mph wind.
I don't want to waste money on mods that basically show no realized improvements.

Others around here I have talked to recommend this GTR 215 set-up:

    • 4" Air Intake
    • Performance Tune (max rev up/to 8750 rpm)
    • Solas Concord SRZ-CD-13/18A -with- S.S. Wear Ring
    • Performance Intake Grate (for cavitation reduction)
    • Race Sponsons (because GTR uses GTI's shorter/lighter hull design)
    • O.P.A.S. Fins Controller Kit
    • Pump Wedge - 2 Degree Trim up Ring
    • Control Rod Extension (for pump wedge down control)

So ..... what am I looking for in possible gains?
I am looking for another 5+mph on the top end (75 mph), without too much sacrifice at the bottom.

What are recommendations for a "Canada Type" set-up for my Sea Doo GTR 215?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Your ski has ibr, people dont run pump wedged on ibr skis, theres no vts trim linkage, and there isnt any opas to delete. Canada models are limited to 70mph and still has torque and rpm limits in the ecu you'll need to get flashed to rev 8750 but reliably you'll need retainers, keep it under 8300 if you dont, also your fly wheel bolts are more likely to shear over that.

    My GTR 215 ...
    Welcome

Broadly speaking my understanding is that the Canada market BRP product is configured the same as US market units. Some models may not have factory/GPS electronic speed limiter if they would not, in stock factory configuration, be capable of significantly exceeding the US Coast Guard mandated 65 nautical miles per hour speed level (roughly 69 US statute mph).

What model year is your Seadoo?

    Correct!
The 215's do not have a speed limiter. Only the 260 and 300 HP skis have the speed limiter.

Yes! I thought for some reason we were without an emission standard, or something like that, but looks like you are right! 2013 GTR215 - People say I should be doing 66-67 tops. But I am flicking 69 going against my buddy on his GTX260. Fairly smooth fresh water lake at Sea Level. He can't pull on me, but then again, I can't really on him either (LOL). So, here we are!!!

5 mph gain with no sacrifice on bottom. You gain from hole shot all the way to top speed
