2014 SVHO rebuild derailed hours before completion—what the heck happened...

to the fitting on the generator cover that connects the tiny hose coming from the breather assy. As this is only my 2nd 1800 rebuild project it's been painstakingly slow yet fairly issue free until I ran into this bugger. Nevertheless, this has got me completely stumped and extremely disheartened as I was just a few short hours from DONE! Any explanations to bring clarity to this thing would be most welcome but more importantly if anyone has any insights into a fix that doesn't involve pulling the engine and tearing her down again I would be extremely grateful.

I just don't get it if you look at the pics it just doesn't make any sense as the fitting does not go through and does not appear that it ever had. Would it be possible to simply drill it out out and take care to minimize the metal shavings then change the oil out—l understand it's not much and sure I may be exhausted but at the moment it's all I got.

    Thanks

Nice! My bad for disorganization when it comes to having parts from 3 different year 1800's lying around and not fully trusting the 2015 service manual from which I'm working from. Had the part in hand and figured it must go somewhere—apparently no such breather assembly is used on this ski whatsoever! What a relief...

    Thanks for the quick reply!
