    Stand-up Dock-Porting options?

    ‘Lo, all!

Trying to decide what we will pull our Kawa SXR 1500 up onto alongside our floating dock, to keep it out of the water overnight, during the warmer months, etc.

Just curious but, do any of you who own or run standups port your machine on or over the water, attached to any kind of dock?

Or, does everyone trailer their standups up a boat ramp at the end of every riding day?

Currently, we “throttle” our sit-down Yama VXR in order to pull it up onto a HydroHoist “HP Extreme” which we have found to be awesome for protecting the hull from bottom “rub” damage due to all the constant (and sometimes pretty excessive) surface wave action, etc.

But, there is a bit of caution required - in order to throttle the engjnenenough to get the craft up onto the wheels atop the floating port BUT, not so much throttle you move the hull over or past the soft, padded “stop” at the front of the floating port ...

I am trying to picture in my mind how pulling a 1,500cc *Stand-up* onto such a port is going to work ... and whether there is a risk of a rider who is standing up losing their balance at that critical point the ski needs enough power to get “up on top” of the port wheels but, not so much they go flying forward (don’t want to see riders standing upright going head first over the handlebar once the craft comes to a stop ... which isn’t really a problem when riders pull up onto the HP Extreme seated ...)

Or, is pulling a standup ski up onto a floating dock port not that different from doing it with a sit down?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Not having any experience on standups yet, THIS (pic below) is the point where “some” (“just the right amount of”) throttle is needed that I am wondering if this type of port will work as well for a standup as we already know it works (ideally) for sitdowns ... ?

    Stand-up Dock-Porting options?

For our sxr we used a standard aqua port that was at our marina. No rollers

Edit: it pulled on easily and pushed off easily as well. A little harder for the girls to push off if it’s loaded all the way. They would need a helping hand.

    Thanks, young!

Especially since I got a jolt when the dealer texted me a photo of my new SXR and announced, “Its here!” (we thought’d be in Jan/Feb)

Apologize for the lag in replying (now that forlorn wet and cold weather is here, been trying to get all the stuff done in the workshop that just piles up when it’s warm outside!)

Funny cuz the wife said getting that call was like lighting a fire under my *ss, I went into high gear getting stuff knocked off the long term “to do” list!
