When you put a 19lbs wheel you should put Riva shaft kit...

Next time don't cut corners, this has been discussed left right and centre. No excuse to put a 19ib wheel and keep the oem shaft!

From his early posts I think he had the Riva shaft installed, unless that was on anotehr Ski of his. Wasn't this the year\model that needed the Volute pinning to stop the wheel from walking?
Certainly did some walking after the shaft broke, what a mess!

So many report that they were not at top speed when the clutch or something else in the S/C breaks, maybe the max load (torque) is achieved lower in the rev range - just wondering.

Maybe he will post again and we will find out more.

    Cheers

    ...
Thread title appears to say it was an OEM shaft.

The supercharger volute pinning (for 2017 and earlier) was to prevent the volute from moving within the outer housing, not the wheel or the shaft.

    used the OEM shaft
    volute is already pined

i know i should have installed a riva shaft , but i even didn’t hit the throttle when the shaft broke , was driving slowly to warm the engine when this happened .

it was the first test after installing the ET19

699$ was gone in a blink of an eye

i have one of my friends running 2014 OEM shaft whith ET19 , and his doing 86 mph with no issues.

i just wish there are some solutions to this long repeating cycle of shafts clutch's etc...

now i need to get a thrust plate , but unfortunately worx kit doesn’t include thrust plate , and R&D is closed .

no one has this thrust plate anymore.

thank god one of my friends has the old SHO S/C rebuild kit from R&D

the SVHO housing needs to be machined to accept the old style SHO thrust plate , and will be installing riva shat .

Not sure who did the install, but it is very important to properly torque the SC nut to the proper inch/pounds. Very easy to over-tighten that tiny little threaded shaft when you install a new wheel. Not sure the OEM shaft really likes being reused, its a delicate and not overly strong piece, kinda like the non-reusable head bolts on new cars.
