BOV controversy and confusion
I have been reading how most state a BOV is a waste on the RXP or RXT with the supercharged 4tec.....now I'm confused!
Why did Personal Watercraft Illustrated magazine do a complete write up (June 2007 page 52) on installing a BOV at home yourself with a prebuilt kit if it was for nothing? Is this just another "advertising" thing to sell something people don't need?
Sorry if I started a fire all over again, but this is goofy!

It's personal preference. Some do and some don't. I do and have as many problems as the ones that don't. Search BOV and you'll find an informative post Jerry wrote, then make your decision

Personally I think Blow off Valves are a must on skis doing high rpm and making more boost.
When the throttle body closes on boost after a WOT run the air in the pipe goes back to the supercharger causing it to surge temporarily. This pressure is set free by a BOV.
The blow off valves only opens when there is vaccum in the intake or in other words when the throttle is closed, so boost wont get leaked by the BOV unless it is set up wrong,
Adjust the BOV So that it relieves pressure only. This way it will be more responsive as you go on and off the throttle.
If you open it (More BOV Sound PSHHHHHH) you will lose a bit of response
This is a good link check it out one of the best BOV here

IF you don't chop the throttle... you don't have a problem. Do you floor your car and chop the throttle in park?

So let's say you are riding full throttle.....lose control and get bucked off the ski.....how do you prevent the sudden off throttle that just occured when you fell off the ski?
Even if your hand slipped and you accidently released the throttle when you were WOT.....Just b/c someone knows you shouldn't do that doesn't mean it will never happen.
