    2001 Challenger Shop Manual

Does anyone have a shop manual for a 2001 Seadoo Challenger 2000 with the Merc engine. I just picked up one of these and figured I would try to poke around it. The previous owner said the engine stopped working with not a lot of information to go with that. Before I start poking, I want to take a look at the shop manual.

good luck with that. And good luck getting any help from a merc dealer either

the merc powered challenger isn't a sea doo, or a mercury for that matter

Seadoo Dealers only carried trim parts., Merc delars would typically refer you back to seadoo.

need a jetpump, go to merc..and then get puzzeled looks from your merc dealer

you need an experienced outboard mechanic that has a merc certification and the required diagnostic tools

I believe that Candoo might just cover the particular engine used in there, which could be some help figuring out what has failed ( ignition likely)

hope you got it super cheap, as the moment I discovered what was involved, I never took another one again.

I got caught by surprise when I opened the engine bay.

what little I do know about those sort of things ( ducking) its often from what I hear from the guy that lives under the bridge is that the ignitions are likely suspect be the first thing I'd check

    Update...

Dug into the boat a little, and found that the starter is bad. The pinion is stuck extended, so I am looking to buy a new one. it seems the previous owner replaced the starter, but there are no part numbers on the unit, So I need to find that.

I found some starters, but no where does anyone directly reference the OE# including SBT. They have one, but I am not sure it is the right one and the online chat person could not 100% confirm. Does anyone have access to a parts catalog for the year boat and can tell what the OE# for the starter is?

    https://www.wholesalemarine.com

you can get some pictures opf the engine and the starter and explain it to them.

thjey will likely find you the correct bit

hint: send a pizza over there afterwords if they get your the right one.

it will be the best $20 you've spent on that boat.

your going to really luck out if the engine starts, stuck bendix may mean they were playing the crank and pray game

you try soaking it in PB blaster?

    oops
