    Testing (pump swap)

So I'm thinking of testting this out just for fun nothing to do with anything just want to see

    I have an rxt 260
    My buddy has 2018 300

I'm pushing a good amount of horses

Want to swap pumps and maybe repitch blade to a very low pitch to equal what i have currently
    Solas 14/19 to 14.5/20
My hook up is sub par and I cav so hard for about a sec before it hooks and goes

He has a scom and he constantly beats me off the line and that is why i have lost almost every time but if I could get it to hook like the 300 I would smoke him

he hooks instant and has a 1 sec lead and by the time we get to end of designated course I have gained on him to about a .2 sec behind

What would it do or has any one tried putting a 300 pump on a 260 and a 260 on a 300 with a very high pitch

And I know the lucky cone would help with my cav but its just alot of trial and error with that thing

Yup like he said some of the Big FL ecu flashers run a 159 pump in the 300s with a 15/22 for more top speed .

Yes but instead of swapping my wear ring I was just going to trade pumps just to test much easier then changing wear ring and less expensive lol

You have a point it makes it a lot faster to test diff prop setup I had 3 extra pumps last summer and had them all in the trunk of my car , go do a few test runs pull the boat out change pump test again vs going home/man cave garage and changing the Setup on that pump .

What kind of mods do you have on your 260? If your cavitating out the gate chances are you have a bad wear ring. I rarely dig race but I have no cavitation on a highly modded 260. I’ve tried just about every size prop in a 159 pump and comparing to the 161 I would say the exact prop size in each pump the 161 will b 200 rpm less than the 159. What kind of rpm is each ski running? If he has a untouched 161 prop your rpm will be a good amount less than your 14/19 159

Wear ring is SS and i checked it the other day and gap is tight.. Mods everything in the book except i am on stock charger. I am pushing 8950 on RPM but just out of hole it cavs. Im thinking it may be carbon seal letting some of that initial hard pressure through so i purchased the 5mm thicker hat. Ive always had problems since modding with cav i mean it will go but wont actually hook and go until about 1 sec after i WOT

I know im going to loose RPM i just didn't know if i re pitch to match mine if it would just hook and go and he is pushing 8060
