    ‘95 seadoo GTX

Hey guys, a friend of mine has a 1995 GTX that seems to have a problem with running consistently. When I say that I mean it will start and run fine for approx. 20 minutes, then it will just shut off. It takes like 40 minutes for it to be ready to start again. Any ideas on what this could be?

Does it have a spark when attempting to start it the second time? I've read something about motors running fine until the coil warms up then the no start begins.

He claims it doesn’t spark, the engine doesn’t fire.

open the cdi box. you'll find water in there most likely. be gentle with the plastic bits, they are old and will break if you fiddle too much

Some of the early mpem's would do strange things like that when the rev limiter was going bad. Inside the electrical box the mpem has a blk/red wire attached to the coil. Tie in a toggle switch between mpem and coil and leave it hanging out easy to get to. Next time it happens flip the switch to open the circuit and see if fire returns. If it does, you will need an mpem. If not I would be looking at the stator.
