06 VX110 temp alarm after SBT engine replacement

Guys, I'm stumped on this one... Just replaced the engine on our '06 VX110. Very clean, unmolested, freshwater ski...

I was running the ski for the initial break-in and a few minutes into the run the temp alarm came on. Ok, no prob - limped it to the dock, checked hoses, engine temp, pisser flowing fine, etc... everything ok. No obvious signs of cooling problems.

I have YDIS, checked codes and the temp sensor was was way out of range. Cleared codes and let it sit overnight with the battery disconnected.

Next day, fired up cold out of water and had instant temp alarms. Shut it down, and tired eliminating which sensor is causing the alarm by unplugging one at a time. Both sensors unplugged and the alarm still goes off (instant alarm once engine starts, engine still cold).

I did a quick inspection of the harness and connectors and there is no obvious indication of chafing or corrosion.

    I'm stumped!

    Any suggestions?

more harness inspection needed, and a double check of all connections to the block

then a wire by wire trace. harness damage is at times very hard to detect by eye

did you use a fast charger to jump the ski?

Thanks Pete... No, a charger has not been hooked up for a quite some time...

My next step was to remove the harness, strip the wire loom, and trace the wires while inspecting the connectors. Good times... appreciate the help!
