    Tune or maptuner?

In process of building an 05 RXT. Mods listed below. Wondering which would be more beneficial. Sending my ecu out to get tuned, or buying a maptunerX and installing a tune from Riva? I do want a maptunerx, so I can download the fault code app.

    05 RXT
    Brand new motor
    All ARP hardware
    Updated valves, springs, titanium retainers
    X charger
    42lb injectors
    Fizzle IC
    Riva waterbox / thru hull
    4" Kanaflex intake
    08 oil mod for SC

The mail-in flash to Riva will likely give you the same results as the maptuner for less money. But if you plan on doing anything else significant to your ski, e.g. larger injectors/bigger wheel you’ll have to send it in again negating any savings.

You can do the Riva Maptuner Mail in tune or go the full MaptunerX tuning package route. Either is on sale now in the GreenHulk Store.

I personally prefer the MaptunerX tuning package route. You can get the diagnostic app, logging upgrade, upgrade tunes free of charge if you add more mods later, and no need to send your ecu out to be done. It’s a very cool system. Plus you can use the MaptunerX to tune future skis, friends skis, can am ATV’s, etc.

MaptunerX all the way. You can use it to help friends as well. All they would need is their own license for a tune. Jesus is always there with his blessings for you!

42 lb injectors will run out of fuel once you spin it a little over 8000rpms
so you will need a rrfpr
or if you go with vtech you will find the most tunes running their vt1100 injectors

Depending on who does the flash you can go that route if you wanted. For many years I ran a reflash on my rxp and tons of other skis with great success because there was nothing else to use really at the time, Besides a stand alone ecu.

The map tuner allows you to do more and usually less down time waiting for a custom tune.

    Really it's personal preference.
