    remove water box.
    cut it in half.
    cut out all internals.
weld the two halves back together.
    install water box.
    profit????

What are you hoping to gain by modifying the water box?

So just gut the inside and leave the tube. Or do you drill 3 holes in one of the plates like the rxtx? Just to get that extra noise but not the max sound. I have a friend with the rear exhaust now but would like a bit more without buying earplugs.

    TAB686,
Your friend with the rear exhaust...does he have the stock waterbox and it seems loud to you?

    All,
I've cut waterboxes apart before (Kaw X-2 stainless, Sea-Doo SP/GTX/XP), gutted them and left the tubes as KEYZBUM states so that they expel the water properly. All worked well, but were loud on the old two smokes...and we didn't have silencers back in those days. I want a little more sound and prefer a deeper note more than a raspy annoying one. I'm thinking about gutting the waterbox and leaving the silencer...it might do the trick. Plus, leaving the exhaust exit in the pump cavity will help tone it down some as opposed to a rear exit; however, I love the look of the rear exit.

the rear exhaust sounds great at idle and has a little tone to it while wot, but would sound so much better if it was a deeper sound,

Got my “test” box (eBay 68 bucks) cut open and gutted to about a fist size hole in the one single baffle plate. I’m gonna try this on my 17 Trixx with leaving the stock resonator in place. I have game warden and sheriff enforcement all around me where I live.

Ok so I guess there is this huge secret on the spark water box mod beacuse there is no info out there from what I have seen but people are doing them. Or no one cares! Either way, below it 'my' box mod on my buddies 110 2up. Had it out today and sounds perfect on the water. Not to loud but a nice deep tone.
