    Old Ski back to life!

    1990 TS
Well, took a little work (A lot) A complete teardown to a bare hull, then a clean, and repair
    Rebuilt jetpump
    Rebuilt thru hull bearing
New top end on engine (650) (fried rear piston due to failed crankcase drain reed)
Converted to primer from Choke (primer in Choke knob position)
Clean up all of ski inside and out (still needs a little paint touch up)
Converted from fuel bowl and primer bulb system to Fuel filter (much cleaner set up)

Runs like a top, will be spring before full break in as its now stored for winter.

Sure it's not the fastest or coolest out there, but a friend has a 12 year old, it the perfect beginner ski and not big $$$.

The 1990 650's have a crankcase drain valve if you should ingest water. You pull the knob, and it opens a port that allows water to drain out the bottom of the engine. Inside that valve, is a reed, one for front, one for rear cylinder. When they get old they can leak, fail and the valve can fail to seal correctly and if the reed is bad, it sucks air and goes lean on that cylinder.

Those old skis might not be very fast, but its like driving a time capsule. Mine take me back to better days.
