New to Kawasaki, buy a 900 STX for 50 bucks?

New here and potentially new to ski ownership. I have an opportunity to pick up a late 90’s? Kawasaki 900 STX for 50 bucks. No title but I’m on a private lake so no issues there. The person offering says it is mostly there but best as a parts donor. Would you roll the dice on this and attempt to get it running or is it a money pit?

    Welcome

    What does ‘mostly there’ mean?

How much money and time are you willing to put into it before it becomes ‘too much’?

Buy it, inspect and put together a needed parts list. Worst comes to worse you resell or part.

Worst scenario is that it's not feasible to fix it, and since you don't have a title for it, you can't dispose of it.

Yep, he should be paying you $50 to take it off his hands not you paying them. "mostly there" means its dead, because why would it be only mostly there if it was not blown up. No one takes parts off a good fixable ski.

You guys are wild, 50 bucks I would recoup real quick in parts sales. Cut hull up or just bring to dump. Guess rules arent as strict here in ct, I paid 32 dollars to get ride of an ultra hull last year, kept vin tags and reg

In Texas, if it originally had a title, you have to present it to dispose of it at a dump or junkyard. Car, boat, motorcycle, mobile home, etc.
