    2010 IBR Issues

    Hi Guys-

I have a 2010 RXTX with IBR red light and engine light, and im pulling codes:

    P1661 - IBR Malfunction
    C0073 - Torque Request failure

I have cleaned all the connectors, and they were a little corroded. Took it back on the water and bam, same codes after 5 mins.

Any thoughts here? It only happens when I'm driving around in F not when docking.

Trying to avoid the $1000 replacement! (wtf sea doo)

They don't like low battery / Charging voltage. Check both.

Do you have the ability to check for proper power at the IBR module? there should be a round plug with bigger gauge wires, attached to the IBR. See if you have good power there.
If you have access to CANDOO, you should be able to test the module. I know in BUDS you can, but would require a trip to a dealer.
It is also possible for there to be water inside the actual module itself(happens more often than you would think). Sometimes you get lucky, and can dry it out..but I wouldn't hold my breath
I do tend to see a few of these every year( I work at a dealership in Georgia) and most often requires new IBR modules, and fixing plates. But remember, working at a dealership, opening a module and drying it out isn't an accepted form of repair. .

I got my IBR replaced under warranty as it was blowing fuses randomly and random codes. Tech said it was a wet module in IBR motor. Seadoo was flipped only once when we first got it in fresh water so maybe that's how it got wet, but surely they should be able to withstand being upside down for a few minutes. (That's what happens when you lets girls ride your Seadoo)
