Sea-Doo Racers Win 11 IJSBA World Championships
The results are still pouring in from this past week’s 37th annual IJSBA World Finals, but there’s a whole lot to celebrate if you’re a fan of Sea-Doo. The industry leader took home a staggering 11 IJSBA world championships, most notably in the 1100 Stock, Limited and Super Stock categories, making these classes (ideal for the Sea-Doo Spark) one of the fastest growing racing categories. Add to that the 8th consecutive win for the RXP-X in the Pro GP class, and Mohammed Burbayea’s second consecutive Pro World Championship on the RXP-X, and Sea-Doo has much to celebrate.

Over the past few years, this has become more of an international event. This year, there were no U.S. riders in the pro runabout GP class and only 8 riders total on the line. First time since I can remember, that Kawasaki didn't have a boat have out there for this race.

C'mon fellas, you know what's going on here. There is ZERO manufacturer support for the GP classes, as they do not reflect the product that they are selling. In fact, you won't find many aftermarket brands dishing out big contingency money for wins in this class either (look to Americans Erminio Iantosca and Claude Clayton for examples). The money isn't there. It's in Stock class. (And a bit less in Pro Open.)
Once racing drops these "no holds barred" classes you'll see more competitive fields with more payout. These things are simply too exotic.

Was primed to see a new champion this year in this class but Marcus Jorgensen blew his Yamaha up at the first buoy.
Some of these guys don't even run heat races to conserve their motor for the final 2 moto's.
Mohammed Abbas was fast as well.
Bushnell broke.
There were more boats in this class than previous years and the ski classes are growing.
Not ideal weather for the event with the Baja Hurricane remnants making some waves and rained out the night freestyle show which was a huge bummer.
This was the best finals, I felt, energy-wise, in a few years. Franky showing up with the Flyboard Air was cool.
This class is as Kevin stated - exotic. Gyorgy was there but not racing.
It takes a dump truck of cash to run this class. Who knows how many motors you'd go through tuning and testing hull/drive/motor combos.
Any one who can please plan to attend next year. It is a load of fun.
And there were 70 Jr. Stars this year, which is a good thing as this program is growing. Lot's of good racers coming up.
