99 polaris slth carb rebuild issue

So I have a 99 slth that I just bought. I rebuilt the carb and it was my first one. I also replaced the seals in the fuel pump. My issue is the engine fires and idles fine but there is no neutral. When running it wants to go forward like it's in drive. When I hit the throttle it dies. Any ideas what I screwed up?

There is no "neutral". All PWC are direct drive-if it is running- it is moving.
How fast it moves on its own , "idle" speed is adjusted by the large plastic screw.

Did you set needle arm height ?

Thank you for the info on the idle speed. I'll look at the screw you mentioned.

I didn't adjust the speed settings high or low and when I installed the needle valve it didn't have any adjustment inside. It had a pin and a spring that was held in with a screw.

I tried attaching an image but it's not letting me. I appreciate your time and help. This is all new to me but I'd rather learn how to work on these myself.

That arm that the spring sits below is bent if adjustment is needed.
Spec is .060 inch below the carb face level. put a flat edge across opening above arm-measure .060" down to arm button.
Another esurement that controls take off is pop off pressure, how much pressure to lift that needle valve. Controled by the spring.
Did you use the original spring ?

Yes I used the original spring. The kit had several but I read where it said if unsure use the original so I did. I can pull the carb off and double check that dimension. That is easy enough. Thanks again!
