2006 Kawasaki STX 900 no power but good compression??????

I have a 2006 Kawasaki STX 900 that I bought about a month ago with "carb issues." I cleaned and rebuilt them and it started running ALOT smoother than it was. It idles without a problem now and runs smooth...... up to about 25 mph or so. Im not quite sure of the actual speed or rpms because my gauges do not work. All that works on the gauges is the warning light and it has steadily flashed since i got it. I have put brand new NGK iridium plugs in it and a new in line fuel filter. The entire fuel system has been cleaned and still nothing. It has 100 psi in all three cylinders new plug wires as well. Also it is being run on 50:1 premix. The oil system has been blocked off. I took it riding again after all these things were done and it ran the same way it had been slow and weak. I rode it for about 20-30 mins and was sick of it and as i was turning in to the bayou to the launching ramp it was like someone flipped a switch. It ran full speed full rpms and was FULL of power but i was heading down river so I slowed down to turn and whenever i tried to take off again all the power was gone. With all that said i feel that it must be something electrical.

Also i might add that my gauge cluster is THE WRONG ONE. It is 25031-3705 and i know the correct one is a 25031-3747.

    Anybody got a clue??

Wonder if the wrong gauge could cause it run in sort of limp mode?

I was going to suggest a bad spark plug wire, but you say you've replaced them. I'd run it with the seat off. You might see something. After riding it while it's acting up, check the temperature of each cylinder to see if one isn't performing.

Just my 2 cents. How about a broken temperature sensor. putting ski in limp mode? or loose carburetor bolts. It happened to me. I was looking elsewhere. I was the fool.

Thanks for all the help guys. I took the cover off my electrical box to find that one of the wires from the igniter to the coil pack was almost completely unplugged. I plugged it back in and its good to go now!
