Question HELP 1999 ultra 150 is in limp mode I belive.

Just bought a 99 ultra with 16/20 Solas pro, skiworks stinger mod, skiworks tripple pisser kit. I dropped it in to run it and won’t get above 3500 rpm like in limp mode. No idicator light on and pump bearings are perfect. The temp sensor ohmed out at 1,378k at around 82 degree outside temp. I have unplugged it and still won’t get outa limp mode.... ski runs perfect outa water

    Welcome aboard, Gebhardt239!

Well, as you've learned, running on the trailer means absolutely nothing (except that it will start). No warning light, it's probably not in limp mode.

Could be a million things, but I'd start by looking at the spark plugs. Do NOT run this engine lean! It will melt down in a heart beat and it won't be cheap to fix!

How old is the gas? How does the fuel filter look? Could be a sticky slide in one of the carbs (I think it will run a little faster though). How did you check the pump bearings?

This thread has a lot of good info:

Oh, yea, if you run it on the flush hose, NEVER run the water unless the engine is running! Start the engine, THEN turn on the water. Turn off the water, THEN shut off the engine.
