    Oil Flow question

    I have a 1997 Seadoo XP 787 and a 1998 Seadoo XP unlimited 951
    When I start my PWC should I see a very significant flow of oil in the "larger" oil lines that go to the crank case and return to the oil tank? I get the proper flow from the 2 smaller lines from the pump to the fittings below the carb (little smoke out the exhaust) but I want to ensure I am getting proper lube to the crank case.

    I believe there are adjustment marks on the oil pump you can line up to factory settings...I ditched the oil pump in my xp-l and just do premix now

    Yes there are mrks and the pump is adjusted to the marks. Just wondering if I should see lots of oil flow in the large lines that feed the crank case.

    EDIT I found my answer. Took a ton of seaching.

    There is minimal oil flow as most of it stays in the carankcase and just flows slowly. When folks remove the oil pump and go to pre mix they must ensure the crank case (rotary valve case) is full of oil or it will self destruct.

    What do you mean by flow? Do you actually see the oil circulating or just that the line is full up to tank?
