    What would have caused this ?

    The bolts stud pattern have broken off on my pump cone not sure why or what would have caused it any ideas??i did have a bag wrapped round shaft when I pulled pump off

    I would imagine either there was a defect in the casting or when the cone was installed it wasnt properly/fully seated and when the bolt was installed, it was used to draw the cone downward and it snapped the ear off. Or if the shaft and bearings were removed, then the shaft and bearings might not have been fully seated upon re-installation and not letting the cone fully seat.

    bearing and shaft not pressed all the way down so when you tighten cone there is a gap and will snap when tighten.
