2003 GTX sc pump housing small crack

    Hello

My pump housing has a small crack from the edge to the small screw that holds the wear ring in place.

Will an upgrade to a stainless wear ring solve this issue or should I replace the pump housing?

Iím trying to keep repairs to a minimum as the boat is 15 years old.

replace the housing with an aluminum one, ski will respond much better and be more reliable. I have one for sale if you need one.

Here is an image of the small crack in the plastic pump housing. I'm hoping a stainless steel wear ring will firm up the housing and prevent this crack from growing on me. It looks like the previous owner just screwed in these screws too hard and cracked the plastic.

IMO, I would do exactly as toxicgun suggested and replace it with an aluminum pump for all the reasons he stated. He has one to set you up also. No brainer to me.

that thing is done, you will lose steering ability and acceleration, I have been there before. $200 plus shipping and you can have a nice aluminum pump with none of those issues.
