Well I think I'm finished with my case porting. Still have a bit of clean up to do on the JB weld, and I'm planning to strip and repaint the engine as well to prevent corrosion.

I also got my reed cages torn down all the way. . those screws are a PITA. I should probably source some new screws before I put them back together since the heads are pretty stripped.

Broke down the fuel pump too, and removed a bunch of rust from it. It needs stripped as well, then rebuild + paint.

Last thing, I went out and got after the new hull with some bleach and the pressure washer. I'm actually pretty surprised by how clean I was able to get it. The hood will either need fresh gelcoat, or I might swap with the 1100 since that one's in better condition.

All 1100's had the 155 pump. To really harness the power of that 1100 you will need to swap the pump.

I'll definitely be swapping them. The 155mm I have is in much better condition than the 144mm. It's also already got a R&D intake grate in it.

So I've done some more inspection of my current crank. I've been able to check everything except the runout & phasing. Everything is well within spec, almost like new. . .except the big end side clearance on the #2 rod. (Cylinder that was originally damaged) It's actually still within spec but close to the max. I got about .023-.024 (.028 is max per service manual). . . One of the thrust bearings for it is also discolored. . . even though it all moves very smoothly with a little assembly lube.

I'm pretty sure I could get away with running this crank for a while, especially since it's clearly a welded SBT rebuild. . . SBT is 10-15 min from my house. Using my better judgement I've pretty much decided I'm going to have to go down to SBT and swap cranks, so that's going to be another $400. . . Unless anyone knows someone in the Clearwater, FL area that can swap out the middle rod & bearings for a better price. I also need 1 small end rod bearing, and a few gaskets, so probably looking at another $450-500 needed to finish the motor. Don't want to run the risk of having to tear it back apart right away. . .or worse damaging the new pistons and freshly machined cylinders/head.

That was basically my budget to get a double trailer, so I need to generate some extra funds. I've probably got close to $1000 worth of old project parts, and new parts that were wrong, or never used, so going to work selling some of that stuff to pay for the crank.

Otherwise the engine is pretty much ready for reassembly. . .In the mean time I'm going to keep working on getting everything else ready.
