    Hi all!

Thank you all for the encouraging words, haters: bad luck! Some explanation:

    1. I live in Europe, where an ultra isn't as common as in the US and the prices are waaaay higher, so this was a pretty good deal considering it's a 2013
    2. Crank fixing (yes, the shop has a very good reputation) costs around 400 eur here, a new crank is 1600 eur
    3. The cost for all the parts (2 conrods, new bearings, a full WSM gasket kit and exhaust filter) was around 700 eur.

That being said, the total (for now) is around 1000 eur. I brought the cylinder(s) to the shop, they say that they will try to polish it out (or sleeve if necessary, since thy cylinders are nikasil plated).

Here the pictures of the pistons:

    What do you guys think?

I have been this entire route. Have the cylinders replated and replace the pistons, rings etc. This is supercharged engine, everything must be right.

repairing a trashed crank is a simple job for a shop that specializes in it....

rebuilding cases from thrust failure is simple enough task with correct skilled shop

    remember NEW
    bearings
    rod bolts
    pistons
    rings
    gaskets & seals
I personally always replace timing chains when that far torn down
    new PTO bearing & seals

have the cylinder checked for size and roundness against OEM manual.... if out of spec REPLACE it ( there not that expensive really )

yep its going to be a good fun winter project lol'

    Hi all!

Here is the update i promised: the Kawa is back together again and seems to be running great; will have to wait till next spring to test it out though...

Here is a video of it starting & running (it's very cold, around 0 deg C):

Will be posting how it runs when on water....
