    Ultra - STXR Engine Stand

Has anyone ever fabricated and stand for the purpose of when you pull a motor you could set it on the stand and bolt it down. The stand would have to match up with the motor mount holes. It seems this would make it much easier to work on the motor rather than on a work bench. Just a thought. I have a fabrication shop at my disposal but i would have to come up with a design.

I just use a general purpose machine stand, like what you would use for a belt sander, grinder, etc. It's a comfortable work height and I can stand on all sides.

If you already have an engine stand you should just need a piece of plate steel, a piece of pipe the same size as the one that slides in a standard engine stand, a welder and a drill. You may want to drill the plate with holes to match the bottom bosses and holes to accept the cylinder studs near the front edge. You can mount the top case upside down and the rods will hang through.

No need for engine stand, split case and turn upside down. Two pieces of wood on studs high enough rods dont touch work bench. drop crank in put you favorite goop/sealant and drop bottom case on. Torque all down.

It's very important that Rods hang or you will get the crank in there abnormal and you will have a bind.
