How to pressure test head 2016 fx svho

Got water in oil. Oil cooler pressure tests ok. Going to test intercooler.

Wanted to get some help with the procedure to pressure test the head with the valve cover off. Can't figure out which to block off and where to feed air pressure.

    Thanks for any help.

I made some plates with gaskets, I can sell you, they block off the thermostat and exahaust mani. If you are able to pressure test. Pay close attention to the area between cylinder 2 and 3. Thats where my head was leaking, barely barely anything was leaking but it was leaking. Dont be afraid to use soapy water. It will be around one of the lifter buckets under the camshaft.

only 50 hrs on the ski. I could have taken it for warranty but that would have set my summer back for sure. I found a used head and got it installed.

I would buy them from you for sure if I could pick them up right now... Kinda eager to figure this out.

So you blocked off the exhaust manifold and the thermostat housing? Anything else?

Which line did you pressurize with air?

    Thanks!

I plugged every line that I heard air coming out off. I had clamps everywhere. You dont need the block off if you can plug the exhaust hose coming from the waterbox. I stuffed a oil filter in it. And thats how I pressure tested on the ski. The plates are for the head I purchased. The machine shop wanted to pressure tested it before working on my head.

Feed air on one of the water pisser lines, which ever one is the easiest for you.

Thanks. I will give it a try.

How do you know if it's the head or head gasket?

Fucking sucks that this is cropping up so often. After spending a shit ton on a new setup there's no telling if it'll just happen again.

I don't know how common it is... Its way too common for those of us with this problem but it doesn't seem like it's anywhere close to the timing chain problem in numbers.

Nevertheless. I agree that it fucking sucks! Mine is a 70 hour ski with stage 1 mods and 8600 rpm tune.
