    2018 rxpx side rail issues

Hi everyone, so the side rail just fell off and ripped out the hole for the back side of the ski. I was wondering if I need to remove it then slide it on from back for front? Then also what appears to be 2 sided tape is actually doing? We tried to get it back on while on the water but it refused to seat correctly. We also noticed a dovetail like form on the rail after a few tries. I did contact the dealer about this and they didn't have any interest saying it wouldn't be covered under warranty unless they file a dispute. So I will wait until the weekend has past to deal with this of i have to. Sorry for the lolonlolong post. Lol

Your dealer says this isn't covered under warranty??? Of course it is. Yes, they have to file a claim with Sea-Doo on all such warranty repairs but that's normal and no big deal. They should be apologizing to you for this poor workmanship and getting you an appointment asap.

It's not hard to fix it yourself if you wish. The rail sits under the rear bumper, you'll need to remove that first. It's just a few screws. The bumpers sit in a channeled grove, you'll need to work it back in, you may need to use a large soft rubber hammer to tap it back into the grove. Use some lubricant like soapy water. Follow the instructions below carefully.

But you shouldn't have to do it. There's no way I would ever let the dealer or Sea-Doo give me any crap about fixing something like this. This is exactly what a warranty is for. If the dealer continues to give you crap, contact BRP directly. (715) 848-4957

So I am trying to figure out why you would think a 2 year old ski's bumper trim would be covered under warranty. First year is bumper to bumper and IF you have extended warranty some things are covered and some arent....

The title of the post clearly says 2018. Last I checked this is 2018.

Last I checked just because a title says something doesn’t mean it’s true, first dead give away is the X on the seat. So maybe you guys should look again yourself, FYI tiny would know since he has sold plenty I’m sure. Just to tack on one more thing, the guy came on the forum just to make that one post to bitch.

It says 2018, but if you look closer the ski is a RXPX260!!!! They havent made a 260 since 2015, and 2018's are not that color either....But I am just the dealer who sells these things, What do I know??????

At first look, I would guess that it is a 2014 260 hp.

there are 2 skis in the picture, the 260 in the picture is for sure not a 2018, but the ski with the side rail thats coming off could be a 2018, hard to tell but the gray on the seat, and the side says RXP X like a 2018
