i can't figure out why?
...when i nail it from dead stop 5 out of 10 it feels like the the pupm sucked in some junk from water, and than 1 sec and booom it runs perfect. if the ski is moving just a litle ( 1mph ) and i nail it it works 9 out of 10.
ring, prop, everything is fine...(i think)
went home and puld my pump off and here is what i see...i think i forgott to scru this thing back on the prop.
over all the ski was excellent. run like its new.
what you guys think?

That's just the nose cone for the prop. most of us don't use that anyway. Try taking it off and see if you still have your problem.

it was off, could the wear ring be lose some how and hit the prop or could something be lose that would make this problem? like i sad the ski 95 % runs great and jumps out of water when i nail it but some time just wont doint for like a split sec.
...fels like the pump sucked in something and split it out a sec later but NO. this is not the case....

I don't know anything about the RXP's, but I do know that some of them have prop housings (wear rings) that would spin, like the 98 and some 99 XP's.
Someone here will be able to tell you what years and models did it.... but I'm thinking this just may be your problem.Your symptoms sound exactly like a spinning ring.

The ring should not pull out easy!! and no you should not glue in the wear ring.. I'd by the new SS wear ring from Jerry and call it a day..

A loose prop cone sliding up the shaft will cause cavitation also. remove the cone, and get a SS wear ring.

Steve , what is the reason for the prop cone? why is it even there?

Pet,
they have been used on pumps for many years. However, testing from many folks have proven that the ski is faster and subjectively quicker without a cone.
This may not be the case with ALL skis, but does hold true for both the seadoo and yamaha skis.
