does 232 volts at the coil sound right.? thanks for the explanation.

I just went thru all the factory manual coil test and the only thing off was the ohms between the 2 secondary output.book calls for 1200-1600 ohms and I got 2840.try a friends coil and his was 2920 ohms between the plug wire terminals.thats all the test I can make.it should run I would think unless the cdi is doing something else odd.but I am out of ideas.il ride my yammy.

Yes 200-230 volts going into the coil primary is correct.
Are you measuring 2800-2900 ohms at the coil secondary terminals or the plug wires ?

    That should measure 8000 ohms.
Do you have a Polaris or Young Wang ?
Maybe post a picture of the wires with plug boot pulled back.
There were 2 types of plug wires used, need to determine which you are using.

In an earlier post, I saw a spark tester. Is that plugged onto the spark plug ?
This 2 cyl ignition needs to have both plugs attached and grounded for either plug to get spark.

it was between the plug and wire.how else can you see if there is spark or not. I am confused. lol I just realized I have 2 names going on.1 from home and 1 from work. xltier and norway12 are the same.cant believe I did that.
