Also remember the VERY second you add in chop.... You know I will be picking up a new RXT-X in a year or two. I'll try to keep it stock but some of you know me and my tendencies

Great write up kevin and jerry . I think they need to be tested in what ever way is faster .. with or without launch control . As the skis are manufactured that way . Really thats like saying take a spark plug out of the yamaha as seadoo only has 3 cylinders ..
I would have thought the yamaha was faster ... lol

I figured it'd be close. Yamaha had the weight advantage, but that cavitation kills the launch. Not sure what it is with Yamaha pumps but the FX SVHO and VXR I've ridden did it also.

Great write up guys. No need to write up about launch control. It was a fair compassion. Sea-Doo fans will complain about launch control. The Yami had to carry more gas as it has a bigger tank. Both had limitations. Suprised by the seadoo but I'm still bleeding Yamaha blue!

A GP compared to a 260 seadoo? Don't make me laugh..... a 260px would get smoked stock for stock with a GP.

The 300rxtx is an impressive machine. At my lake a stock gp1800 beats a new stock rxt300x every time. So with two similar performance skis any little thing affects results.

But to compare a 260 seadoo to a GP1800 is just straight ignorance

Lets look at it this way. The average joe will blast around on there stock ski. Weather it be yamaha or seadoo and the majority will be ridder ability but stock for stock the seadoo is going to win. Now lets then say any other guru on this forum will tinker with there ski and it is then a crap shoot as to who has the most mods or time dialing there ski in. Then we or who ever that wins will have fun saying they kicked who evers but.

all in all we the members of the fourm love to mod, so win or lose its all in what is on the water that day.

Using that logic; the SeaDoo has 300HP while the Yamaha has 265HP ... so I guess that extra cylinder doesn't matter in this equation? It's kind of like a 2019 ZR-1 drag racing a 2020 Tesla Roadster in a 0-60 race. Who do you is going to win that race Let's see, the ZR-1 has 755HP with what 800ftlb of torque and the Tesla has 900HP with 7,000ftlb of torque (yes, i said 7,000). Zero to sixty is no contest, on the track is no contest, quarter mile is no contest and top speed ... forget about it

You know where I stand guys, just check my signature

If you call owning a 17 260 and riding with a 17 GP every weekend ignorance I suppose so. Maybe he got a slow one and I got a fast one, but stock for stock they were very close. GP would jump out half a ski and the the 260 would reel it in and pass it every time. 260 with a flash spanks it now, he’s still stock.

For the record I don’t comment on things I’m “ignorant” about.

Who would think that 2 skis with similar hp and weight would be similar in performance??? Ignorant! 260 with a flash...they are that slow !
