1200 FI into a SLT Hull ??
Is there anyway to transplant a 1200cc motor from a genesis into a 96 SL/SLT hull ?
I can buy a hurricane damaged genesis for $300 with a good motor....

Thanks, I have been lurking for a few days LOL
I have the chance to score 2 polaris pwc's, a 96 slt 780, and a 96 sl 780. Both have thrown rods.
Now I also have a chance to score the genesis 1200 for $300 with a trailer and good motor/electronics.
1+1=2

Yeah maybe so if someone can tell me if they will bolt up.
I don't mind doing the wiring and electronics, or even fabbing a mount for the mfd, but I don't want to deal with custom brackets or shaft adapters etc.
*I think* it will bolt in, but im not 100%. The whole fuji/domestic thing has me in a knot. After 4 hours, im still reading the forums and searching for answers.
I need to know soon, so I can buy these skis.....

The motor will physically bolt up, but I don't know about that log exhaust...not sure if it will fit or not, as the SL's never used anything but the red pipe. You'll have to do some custom electrical work, like you said. I think you'd have an easier time if you converted the motor over to carb though.

The first thing that comes to my mind is will the injectors fit under the seat? I don't remember how tall the Genesis injectors are but if it's anything like the MSX, you'll be doing some seat mods.
Is there a way you can have somebody measure from the engine base to the highest point of a Genisis type engine?
Anybody know how tall the engine assembly is?

Aside from seat clearance, why would anyone want to drop fi and go carb ?? FI is so much easier, no carbs to synch, or needles to adjust.
I think I am going to just get all the skis, and I can probably get $300 for the 1200cc motor if I sold it.
If I cant make it fit, I can just get my $300 back from selling the 1200cc motor and just use that money to fix the blown 780cc....
Wish I could find some genesis body parts, I would just rebuild that ski from the bottom up.

It's funny how popular the genesis has become in the last few months.
I like you attitude, if it doesn't fit at least you'll know.
Keep us posted, I think this could be a cool project.

If you decide not to go through with the project. I would be more than willing to buy that 1200 motor off you for $300.00
