    4-Tec crankcase pressure?

    Hi Guys,

Im still working through trying to figure out why I have oil in my supercharger inlet hose, and through my intercooler hoses and inlet manifold

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=270888

So, I have taken the charger apart, and didn't find anything out of the ordinary at all (its only about 10-15 hours old since it was last built).

I put it back together, and am now wanting to do a little test. I want to imitate the positive pressure of the crankcase, to see if get any oil seeping through the seals.

If you refer to the attached photo, you'll see that I have attached a high pressure hose to the rear of the charger, and clamped it to the housing where it would normally seal when bolted into the motor. The high pressure hose has an air line fitting on the top of it, which will allow me to pressurize the back of the charger. I have filled about a quarter of the hose with oil. I also have the front housing off, and the impellor wheel. This will allow me to see any seepage.

My problem is, I don't know how much pressure to give it. Can anybody tell me what the minimum and maximum safe level of pressure the crankcase would ever get to?.

    Cheers guys.

Anything over 4psi is excessive crankcase pressure.
