If the engine is actually good, would you be willing to put most of another $1000 into getting it running well?

The missing EMM module alone is worth hundreds. Assume it needs new bearings and seals in the jet pump and through-hull. The fuel pump will need the regulator mount reinforced (not expensive, but must be done).

LR-503 Start/Stop control module may need replacing.

    And various other bits...

And I'll run compression on it, if its decent I'll check waveform etc. And yea, if I can get it reliable for around 1k, I'll run it, or pull the engine and drop it In my 1050, I kinda want to mess with my 780 and do triples anyways

The Good it is a Great well built Machine. The Bad ,I found myself in a similar situation Last year I had bought a genesis without knowing anything about the cost of the parts(the computer was missing ), The ugly the complexity of the ficht F. I. This being said I decided to ditch the F. I. and go with a carbs and it has worked out perfectly I believe the previous owners had problems with the F.I.
when I powered up the ski it only had 50HRS on it engine looks and runs as new. I replaced the flywheel ,stator, cdi, ignition coils and carb rack with used parts from ebay and sold the F.I. flywheel and stator (and came out even money) and a more reliable machine as far as I am concerned and the ski goes like hell! I also ditched the auto-oiler and premix myself.
I left the injectors installed (not working) and could swap out the heads at some point and sell the injectors as they still have value to someone with an F.I. machine. Cheers
