R&D low friction dual washer install for Yamaha jet pump

I bought one, but did not install it because I was not sure if you remove a factory washer first. If you do not seems to me the impeller will be spaced away from the pump.

The instructions were not that good, but I thought they said to remove a washer.

Anyone know what the proper installation is?

The dual washer replaces the factory washer. Be sure to transfer the o-ring into the new washer and apply a thin layer of anti-seize to the flat surfaces.

Is there another seal behind the washer or does the o ring makes the seal? What is the best way to get the old washer out?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Well, that worked. Slight tap with a rubber mallet and flat head on one side of the factory washer, and it cocks sideways. Channel locks grabs and spins shaft with one hand as channel locks walk it out and loose.

Now can you buy a new o- ring? separate?
