    Sanibel Captiva Area

Gonna be there for a few days with my waverunner. Are there any “must see” destinations around there? Cool islands? Beaches?

I have a vacation house on Fort Myers Beach so this is my riding area. I don't spend much time on the beach but many people relax on Cayo Costa which is an island north of Captiva. The appeal of this area for me is that there are two totally different riding experiences available-one on the gulf side and the other on the intercoastal channel that lies between Pine Island and the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva, etc. There is usually wildlife to be seen at the pass between the north end of Cayo Costa and Gasparilla island also.

Sounds good! Are there many slow zones when going back on the intercoastal side?

I liked riding to Matlacha (matt lah shay) and having lunch at Bert's Bar and Grill

No-that's the beauty of this channel compared to, say, the channel on the east side of Pine Island. The slow zones are close to the islands (as seen on the map that was posted).

We rode from Blind Pass up to north tip of Gasparilla, mostly on the gulf. Very nice ride, esp Cayo costa.

I agree with the other riders. Another nice ride is down to Lovers Key.
Trying to find a day with the wind not blowing over 10mph can be a challenge.
    Enjoy!

Hi everyone - new here. (Have been active on other forums, just somehow never made it to Green Hulk.)

Looking for full service jet ski friendly marina recommendations in the Estero/Bonita Beach area. I live in New York, but spend quite a bit of time in this area in the winter. Planning to move my Seadoo there in late October. Looking for a place that has a dry dock plus trailer storage. Ideally close to the gulf so I don't have to idle too long.... never rode in the area though!

    thanks
